on audits of individuals during
2010.  The overall audit rate for
individual returns rose to 1.11%.
That's the highest since 1997.
Taxpayers with incomes of $1
million or more got the most
scrutiny.  The IRS audited 8.36% of
these filers.  That's one out of
every 12 returns.  Filers with
incomes of at least $200,000 but
less than $1 million also
experienced significant audit heat
with an audit rate of more than
twice the average.

Fukushima disaster in Japan.
Announcing that all of its nuclear
power stations will be phased out

the gap with renewable energy, but
critics say that this will be hard to
achieve.

    recession, a record 51% of
    American households are now

    current average retirement
    age--and take a reverse mortgage
on their home and use all their
    assets, including the mortgage
    proceeds, to buy an inflation
    adjusted lifetime annuity to
    maximize their income.
    43% of households were
    considered at risk in 2004
    and 44% in 2007.
