Powerful hurricanes have doubled in number
during the past 35 years. There's a growing body of scientific
research that points to rising sea temperatures as the cause.
Climate researchers believe that human-induced global warming is the main
cause of higher sea temperatures, which have risen up to one degree
Fahrenheit in the past three decades.
•
Global warming appears to
be feeding on itself, as more carbon is being released by soils due to the
temperatures rise.

• Checks to the IRS drowned: On
September 11, 2005, some 30,000 quarterly estimate tax payments to the IRS
were dumped into San Francisco Bay. Why? A truck carrying
about 45,000 forms and tax payments overturned on the San Mateo
Bridge. The truck was en route from a post office to an IRS lockbox.

The number of millionaire households in the U.S. rose to
7.5 million, breaking the record set in 1999 of 7.1 million.
The study excluded the value of the primary residences in the
net-worth of the millionaires, but included second homes and other
real estate. Meanwhile, the number of households in the U.S.
with liquid assets of $20 million or more is increasing by 3.000
households a year. The rich continue to increase in both
numbers and in wealth in the United States.
• We see more in numbers
than just numbers...
